Graduate School Alumni Mentorship Program

From October through December of the Fall 2025 semester, the Graduate School is offering an Alumni Mentorship Program that was developed to facilitate valuable mentorship opportunities for Graduate School students.
 
Students will be able to connect with alumni from various career fields. The alumni mentors will provide guidance to students on exploring a career path, professional development, networking, and other aspects of their professional journey to give them an insider’s insight about the job search.  
 
Sign Up Process and Requirements

  • Join thesub-hub by September 25, if you haven't already.
  • Then click on the tab, find "," and click join.
  • After joining the group, review the profiles of potential mentors within the group.
  • Select 2-3 potential mentors and reach out to schedule a 30-minute introductory meeting.
  • Upon completing these introductory meetings, choose your mentor (1 Final Choice)
  • At the 1st official meeting complete the Mentorship Agreement Form (Due by October 3) Send to jalfe@luc.edu)
  • Agree to meet a minimum of 3 times during the Fall semester (Virtual, In-Person)
  • Agree to attend a zoom orientation session October TBD from 1:00-2:00 pm
  • Must be a currently enrolled student in the Graduate School for the Fall 2025 semester

Important Dates and Other Information for Students

  • Program Sign Up Dates: August 18 – September 25
  • Must finalize mentor choice and submit Mentorship Agreement form by October 3.
  • Zoom orientation session (October TBD from 1:00-2:00 pm)
  • December brief mentorship survey due (Date TBD)
  • Helpful Mentorship Tips documents will be available on the TGS Formal Mentorship Program Groups Tab

Please NOTE:

  • The goal of this program is to cultivate a potential mentorship for TGS students, not to guarantee one. Students and Alumni have the right to decline or terminate a mentorship option or choice.
  • We are not involved in the matching process. The mentor/mentee make the matching and final mentorship decisions.
  • It is expected that the student will be proactive in scheduling and planning the mentorship meetings and conversation topics.
